ABOUT THE EVENT: Stop the Swerve is an event to prevent impaired driving. A video will be shown that tells the stories of two local crashes involving alcohol that led to the deaths of young people. The offenders in each scenario, as well as family members of victims, will be in attendance to discuss the consequences and how their lives have changed.

In addition, “Stop the Swerve” includes workshop stations such as driving simulators and state police checkpoints, where troopers will administer field sobriety tests to individuals who wear impairment goggles. The winner of a student contest to create a Public Service Announcement on the subject of impaired driving will be announced, and all high school students who attend will be entered into a raffle to win $500.00 gift cards.
