WASHINGTON (MEDIA GENERAL) – The global community lit up Tuesday evening in a visual display of solidarity with Belgium, following deadly terrorist attacks in Brussels.

From the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, monuments worldwide illuminated in black, yellow and red — the colors of the Belgian flag.

The Twitter hashtag #JeSuisBruxelles continues trending as Belgian authorities carry out terror raids and piece together the events that unfolded at Brussels’ airport and metro system.

Manhattan’s One World Trade Center, a visible marker of resilience following a terror attack, will shine bright with Belgian colors after sunset in New York City.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the organized attack, while European and Western leaders have pledged, again, to stamp out the scourge of terrorism.
