Text mix-up leads to hospital surprise

(WALB) – When a family announced a birth through a group text message, they accidentally included a wrong number, and a pleasant surprise.

The messages were mistakenly sent to the phone of 19-year-old Deorick Williams Saturday morning.

“They sent me a text message and I see it in the phone and when I looked at it, I replied and told them that they had the wrong number,” said Williams.

The messages and pictures announcing the birth of Lindsey and Mark Lashley’s son were sent by a relative.

“I replied and told them they had the wrong number and they didn’t understand it because they were still happy and all about having a baby and everything,” Williams added.

They continued to carry on the conversation with Williams, inviting him and his brother, Dennis, to the hospital in Bainbridge.
