BOSTON (WWLP) – Several police departments in Massachusetts could soon be equipped with body cameras. Its part of a $275,000 pilot program in the state.
Lawmakers want to see exactly how these cameras work in different types of communities. One small, two medium and one large city or town will be selected.
Local police departments can go online and apply for funding. The mayor, city council, town administrator, or chair of the board of selectmen must sign off on it first.
