Springfield Police arrest “Most Wanted” shoplifter

The suspect was found inside a home on Elizabeth Street.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police arrested a woman who they say stole hundreds of dollars worth of clothing, perfume and other items Monday at the Marshall’s located at 1400 Boston Road.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22 News 36-year-old Erika Parent was confronted by security as she was leaving the store with stolen items and was asked to stop and return to the store. Police said she then responded by saying, “No” and got into her car and left.

Sgt. Delaney said a car matching the description of Parent’s was spotted in the driveway on Elizabeth Street. Officers knocked on the door and were let in by the homeowner. There, they found Parent and the stolen items on the table inside.

Springfield Police are still investigating this crime and whether or not other shoplifting crimes in Springfield could involve Parent.
