LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The Longmeadow Shops has broken ground on their expansion project.
This construction stage comes more than a year after the town vote to re-zone the land from residential to commercial. The Shops expansion includes three new stores and a re-configuration of the parking lot.
Property owner Steven Walker told 22News negotiations for what businesses will fill two of the new spaces is in its final stages. The third new space will be filled by the CVS currently in the plaza, leaving that space up for grabs.
Walker told 22News, “This summer we’ll start marketing the existing CVS space because we can’t really deliver that until 2016. So, we’ve got our construction off the ground, and then this summer we’ll start marketing our existing CVS space.”
The new stores are expected to be up and running by the spring of 2017.
