Eversource tree trimming program invests $23 Million

More than a million homes and business rely on Eversource's power lines.

HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – More than a million homes and business rely on Eversource’s power lines. 22News found out how Eversource helps to prevent power line damage year round.

Eversource has invested about 23 million dollars on tree trimming this year to help prevent your electricity from going out.

Trees are the number one reason for power outages. Eversource works year round to trim and remove any tree limbs that might threaten an electrical wires. They want to protect the power lines and keep the power flowing for everyone.

Weather patterns here in western Massachusetts have become more robust in the sense of seeing anything from a tornado to a blizzard. However, this winter was a great season to take advantage of for outdoor work.

Priscilla Ress, from Eversource, told 22News, “This winter, because it was so mild and we didn’t have a lot of snow, we managed to really take advantage of that and our tree trimming program is off to a terrific start this year.”

Eversource wanted their customers to know every dollar is spent cautiously. When you get your bill you will see everything you are paying for and where your money goes.

They also wanted their customers to know that if they see a tree limb that looks threatening to report it.  There are two Eversource forms for customers in either the Eastern or Western parts of the state:
