2 arrested in Northampton drug raid

Police found crack cocaine and cash inside the apartment.

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men were arrested on drug charges Thursday after police raided an apartment on New South Street in Northampton.

Northampton Police Capt. John Cartledge told 22News that the raid was the result of a weeks-long investigation by the Northampton police, state police, and the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office Anti-Crime task force.

At 11:30 Thursday morning, they raided 24 New South Street, Apartment C.  Capt. Cartledge said there, police found several crack rocks and a large amount of cash.

Norman Straugn from Northampton and Johnny Rosario from Springfield were arrested and both charged with possession of a Class B drug, crack cocaine. For Straugn, police said it was his subsequent offense.
