(KTUU) Todd Palin, husband of former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is recovering after suffering from eight fractured ribs, a broken collar bone, and a lung injury in a recreational snowmachine accident over the weekend, according to his father Jim Palin.

“At this point and time I know, number one, he was in a tough accident with a snowmachine,” Jim Palin said. “I gather that after the spill the snowmachine probably fell on him because he was pretty critically injured.”

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin thanked supporters for their prayers today as her husband recovers from a snowmachine crash on Sunday night. He’s hospitalized in intensive care in Mat-Su scheduled for surgery.

“Todd is our rock… toughest guy I know,” Palin wrote on social media. “You know, your prayers have meant so much to our family over the years and I’ve not thanked you enough for providing us that shield of faith. God bless you, too!”
