Springfield concert collects water for Flint, MI residents

Saturday was the last day for people to donate water

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – People in Springfield coming together to help supply Flint Michigan residents with clean water.

More than 50 people gathered for the United For Flint concert. The concert was held at Saint John’s Congregational Church in Springfield.

Guests enjoyed performances from choirs, dancers and a religious sermon about faith. The cost for guests to attend: a case of water, which is being donated to Flint residents.

Coordinator Crystal Copeland told 22News, “My family is from Flint and I said, I have to do something. I needed to do something immediately. And once I put it on Facebook, it just spread like wildfire.”

Saturday was the last day for people to donate water. Monday, Copeland will drive the water to Flint Michigan and donate it to residents.
