Only 7 arrests during the 2016 Blarney Blowout

Big crowds, but no issues

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The Amherst Town Manager, along with UMass officials and police consider the weekend a success during the Blarney Blowout. Although there were big crowds, there were no real issues throughout the town.

Amherst police made 7 arrests, while UMass police reported no arrests. That’s pretty good compared to two years ago when more than 70 people were arrested during the Blarney Blowout.

Police from 15 neighboring communities helped keep the partying under control.
