(WWLP) – The Massachusetts presidential primary is just days away, and businessman Donald Trump has a comfortable lead among Republicans, though it is a closer race for Democrats. A new poll from Boston radio station 90.9 FM WBUR shows Trump with a more than 20-point lead among likely GOP voters, drawing 40% support. Tied for second place are Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich with 19% each. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is in fourth with 10%, and neurosurgeon Ben Carson trails with 5%.

Trump leads the Republican race in Massachusetts among both men and women, and in all ages and income groups.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads slightly among Democrats, nearing the 50% mark with 49% support over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders with 44%. That is very close to the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
The poll does show Clinton leading by a large margin with female voters- 21 points. She has an even larger lead among women over the age of 50, a group she leads by 41 points. Sanders, on the other hand, leads with men by 15 percent, as well as with younger voters.

The WBUR poll was conducted between February 21 and February 23. The Massachusetts presidential primary is on Tuesday, March 1.
