Suspect stole 2 money orders right off the counter

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police need the public’s help identifying a woman who they say stole nearly $600 in money orders.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News a woman stole two money orders, totaling $586 from a 51-year-old woman at the Wheeler’s Convenience Store on State Street, on February 8th.

Sgt. Delaney said the victim put the money orders on the counter and the suspected thief covered the orders with her forearm, and then left with them.
