CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s the number one killer of women, and on Friday more than 200 women came together to learn about their risks of heart disease.
The American Heart Association hosted its 7th Annual Western Massachusetts Go Red for Women luncheon on Friday at the Log Cabin in Holyoke. Together, they were taught how they can reduce their personal risks for heart disease.
Lauren Meizo of Chicopee was the keynote speaker; she’s also a heart transplant survivor. “I had a heart transplant two years ago. Without your heart, you’re nothing. If I didn’t have my heart transplant, I wouldn’t be here today, speaking to you.”
