Belchertown residents help support local fire department

Pancake breakfast helps support an elementary school safety program for children.

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – When the Belchertown fire department needs help to buy crucial equipment, resident always step up to help.

Families filled the fire station Sunday morning for a pancake breakfast. The proceeds will go towards maintaining fire equipment and provide for up to date training for Belchertown firefighters.

Chief Edward Bock from the Belchertown Fire Department told 22News, he appreciates the support. “We do this monthly during the winter season. They’re always well attended and the crowds are always great. They’re very supportive of us.”

These breakfasts are put on by the Belchertown firefighters association. They help support an elementary school safety program for children.
