New surveillance cameras installed in Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News 11 new surveillance cameras have officially been installed around Chicopee Center in an effort to combat crime.

Officer Wilk said crews are now working on getting those cameras to live stream back to the police department.

He added that renovations are underway at the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce building. Police are renting a portion of the building to create a substation there.

Wilk said they hope to open the substation in the next couple of weeks.
