Murdered Army veteran receiving full military honors

The man was killed at an ATM earlier this month.

SANTA FE (KRQE) – In just a few hours, the Albuquerque Army vet killed at an ATM earlier this month will receive full military honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

This comes one day after Albuquerque police identified the suspects they say were involved in that deadly shooting.

Police say 25-year-old Matthew Chavez and 22-year-old Veronica Trimble shot 24-year-old Tyler Lackey while trying to rob him.

Chavez is described as 6-foot-1-inches tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Trimble is 5-foot-5-inches tall and 150 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, but police say the couple may have changed their appearance.

“We do believe they are armed and dangerous. Anyone who does have contact with them should call 911. We do not want you to approach these individuals,” said an Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson.

The internment services will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
