SOUTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – More than 500 Eversource Energy customers in Southampton were without electricity Tuesday afternoon, due to downed power lines.
According to Southampton Police Chief Michael Goyette, the power lines came down on Route 10 near the King Oak Farm. At 2:45 p.m., Eversource’s outage map was reporting 508 customers, or about 20% of the town, was without power. Priscilla Ress, spokesperson for Eversource, told 22News that the number of outages there will soon be down to only about 39, and those customers ought to have their power back by about 5:00.
A second power outage in the western Hampden County town of Tolland had nearly the entire community without electricity. Ress said that they have reduced the number of outages to around 150, and those remaining customers should have power back shortly after 4:30.
