1 shot, killed by police- 5 others injured in Connecticut incident

Officer had to fire weapon, resulting in deadly wound, police say

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A man is dead and five others are injured after an officer-involved shooting in Fairfield, Connecticut Tuesday morning.

Police told 22News’ Connecticut sister station WTNH-TV that officers were called to a domestic incident on Mountain Laurel Road around 6 a.m., in which there were several injuries to family members. Police say one of the officers had to discharge, his weapon resulting in a death. The offender, who was the husband in the incident, was killed.

Five people were taken to the hospital for their injuries. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The State’s Attorney’s office and Connecticut State Police, as well as Fairfield police are looking into the incident, and what led up to it.
