Twitter suspends 125K accounts with links to ISIS

The group is using social media to recruit and scare people

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Twitter is fighting the war on terrorism by suspending 125-thousand accounts linked to Isis.

The terrorist organization is using the internet as a means to connect with people around the world. The group is using social media to recruit and scare people into joining ISIS.

One woman told 22News people should only communicate with people they know online. “People need to be more aware of who they’re following on twitter, on facebook and instagram as well,” said Terasa Damarinas of Springfield.

Twitter’s says they’ll use spam-fighting software that is designed to seek out terrorists’ accounts.
