Police: Mass. man hit by falling tree limb in critical condition

Police haven't released the man's identity

CANTON, Mass. (AP) — A 48-year-old man has been hospitalized after being struck by a falling tree limb following a winter snowstorm.

Police said Saturday the man was in critical condition at Boston Medical Center.

Police say the man was in his yard around 11:15 p.m. Friday tending to an outdoor hockey rink when the tree limb fell on him.

Police haven’t released the man’s identity.

A 6-year-old girl died Friday evening after she was hit by a falling tree limb at her home in a nearby neighborhood.

Kaleigh Kenyon was pinned under the large limb during the snowstorm. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Police urged residents, and especially children, to stay indoors because of the danger from falling trees and limbs.
