1 Car destroyed, another damaged in “suspicious” fire in Springfield

The fire spread from one car to the other

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – One car was destroyed and another damaged in what the Springfield Arson & Bomb Squad is calling a “suspicious fire.”

Springfield’s Fire Spokesman Denis Leger told 22News firefighters responded to a call about a fire at 51 Bartlett St. around 5 AM Saturday morning.

Firefighters found a 2000 Cadillac CTS and a 2005 Nissan Murano on fire in the back yard. It was determined that the fire had spread from the Cadillac to the Nissan.

The Springfield Arson & Bomb Squad later determined this to be a “suspicious fire.” No further details were released.
