New York man arrested in Chicopee for human trafficking

Stevenson is being charged with Kidnapping and Larceny

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Queens, New York was arrested in Chicopee this week on human trafficking charges.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News on Thursday at 5:25 a.m., a woman reported to police that she was taken against her will from North Carolina and then taken to several states where 23-year-old Bruce Stevenson allegedly forced her into prostitution.

The victim told police that Stevenson threatened her with physical harm and stole all of her personal belongings, Officer Wilk said. Stevenson was arrested and is being held at the Hampden County House of Correction in Ludlow.

Stevenson is being charged with Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude, Kidnapping, and Larceny over $250.

The Department of Homeland Security is working with Chicopee Detectives to determine if there are more victims involved.
