SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – Homeowners and drivers have filed fewer insurance claims in western Massachusetts due to this winter’s warmth and lack of snow. This results in savings for insurance companies, and maybe you as well.
This time last year, homeowners were dealing with ice dams and water damage. Drivers were skidding out and hitting snowbanks. Insurance companies paid out lots of claims for damages.
Southwick Insurance Agency told 22News that when there are fewer claims, like this year, insurance carriers can keep from raising their rates, and can even lower them.
