Japan launches ship carrying Patriot Missile system in response to planned rocket launch by North Korea.

(NTV) Japan continued preparations Thursday for the anticipated launch of North Korea’s long-distance ballistic missile.

Japan is set to shoot down the missile if it approaches Japanese territory.

A Maritime Self-Defense Force vessel carrying Patriot Advanced Capability-3 interceptor rockets left Hiroshima for Okinawa.

If launched, the missile or its debris could fly over or near parts of Okinawa prefecture.

North Korea has notified the International Maritime Organization that it plans to launch a rocket carrying a satellite between February 8th and 25th.

The international community suspects the launch is aimed at testing missile technology.
