Prepping “Super Bowl City”

(NBC News) Thousands of Carolina Panthers fans Gave their team a Super Bowl send-off in downtown Charlotte Friday.

The Panthers’ opponent, the Denver Broncos, will have a similar rally on Sunday.

Officials in San Francisco say they’re preparing for everything ahead of Super Bowl 50.

“We’ve been planning for this event for three years,” San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr said Thursday.

First responders are training for water-based emergencies, and federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are bracing for any potential threads at a secret command center.

Officials say one of the challenges they face is the fact that the game is being played in Santa Clara, which is 40 miles from San Francisco, where a lot of Super Bowl festivities are being held.
