Pittsfield PD searching for second suspect in armed robberies

The six robberies occurred in one month's time.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Pittsfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man who they said is a suspect in a series of armed robberies.

Pittsfield Police Captain David Granger said 40-year-old Damian Ivas is wanted in connection with the following armed robberies:

  • Getty, Elm Street, December 23, 2015.12/23/2015
  • Dawes Avenue Variety, January 7.
  • Peaslee’s, Wilson Street, January 9.
  • Subway, Tyler Street, January 23.
  • Angelina’s, Elm Street, January 23.
  • Cumberland Farms, Dalton Avenue, January 24.

Capt. Granger said Pittsfield Police detectives received an arrest warrant for Ivas and that he is charged with six counts of armed robbery while masked with as a co-defendant of George J. Bliss who was arrested Tuesday for the same charges from the same robberies.

Pittsfield Police are asking anyone who has information on Ivas to call them at 413-448-9700 and press 0 for the dispatcher. Capt. Granger said no one should approach or confront Ivas if they see him because they consider him armed and dangerous.
