Entertainment license suspended at Mount Carmel Society

City of Springfield launched investigation after a 2015 stabbing there

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) –  Springfield has suspended The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society’s entertainment license for ten days.

Springfield Police discovered several violations of its license agreement during an investigation into a stabbing there last August. During the night of the stabbing, the investigation found music was playing too late, the club was allowing non-members in, and the manager was not on duty.

Mayor Sarno imposed a 20-day suspension, with 10-days on hold for six months. The club can still stay open and serve liquor, but there can be no music or entertainment during the suspension.
