New Chicopee officer ready to protect the city he grew up in

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee Native Joseph Conroy was sworn in Thursday afternoon as the city’s newest police officer. He had been a Wellfleet Police Officer since 2012, and will begin serving the city of Chicopee in February.

Conroy told 22News he’s proud to protect the city where he grew up. “I’m excited, I’m excited to be part of the department, integrated into the community and give back to the community that I’m so much a part of.”

Robert Archambault, Joseph Kozlowski and Christian Sykes were also sworn in as special police officers on Thursday. They’ll work at police substations while they train to become full-time officers.
