HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Holyoke gym has donated two pieces of equipment in an effort to keep school children healthy. Snap Fitness donated the two stationary bikes to students at the Kelly School. School employees picked up the bikes Thursday, which can be used by all students.
The bikes are worth about $1,000 a piece. Kelly School Assistant Principal Aaron Morris told 22News that they will definitely be put to good use.
“There’s so much research about kids getting more activity for their well being and for their focus. So we’re looking at ways to get kids to use this type of equipment to help them stay fit and stay focused when they’re learning in the classroom,” Morris said.
Officials at the school, which serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade, hope that having the equipment will motivate students further, both physically and academically.
