WINDSOR, Conn. (WWLP) – Bradley International Airport is proposing an “interim” casino that would be set up in 6 months.
The Hartford Courant’s reporting a temporary casino could open at the airport’s Sheraton Hartford Hotel.
Bradley is one of 5 sites under consideration to host a third Connecticut casino. The intent is to open the casino 2 years ahead of MGM Springfield, which is scheduled to open in 2018.
Joe Guy of Windsor told 22News an interim casino might not attract most players; “It’ll probably be a place just for those who want to get out for the evening or something, go have a good time, play a couple hands of black jack and then go home.”
The tribes that run Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun still need to select a site. The proposed permanent casino at Bradley could open at Terminal B or a new $225-million transportation center.
