CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Cell phone bills can get pricey, especially if you’re paying for more than one line.

According to Consumer Reports, paying more than $50 for a single phone line may be too much.

“I pay about $240 a month, that for four lines, we my wife and the kids and there’s no way to lower it. We’ve tried a few times, we call and there’s nothing we can do. You could get a different company but then it doesn’t work anywhere so that does us no good either,” said Anthony Robitaille of Palmer.

Experts suggest ditching your two year contract. That way when a better deal comes around, you have the freedom to switch.

Also, check you bill and make sure you’re actually using all that data you pay for. If you’re having a problem with running over your data plan check your apps. Apps like twitter can eat up data due to videos that automatically play. You can go into your settings and decide which apps you want to have access to the data.

Going to the store could also help you save. Many companies don’t want to lose you as a customer and will likely help you find some savings. But for some people a pricier plan is worth dishing out a little more.

“I get a lot of benefits out of it, nowadays I can do credit cards on my phone for work and all that stuff. Messages that way, whatever else I need it for,” said Walter Natobski.
