SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Even though we haven’t seen any significant snow so far, western Massachusetts residents are still urged to protect their homes and vehicles.

Preparing for winter storms should be at the top of your list of things to get done this season to help you save money from storm damage costs. If there is an incident where you need to call your insurance company, it shouldn’t be a dreaded task.

Bill Trudeau of ICNE, a local independent insurance agency, said it helps to document the damage. “Don’t be afraid to take some pictures,” Trudeau said. “Be safe, don’t get yourself in harms way and don’t be afraid to take actions you need to, to prevent your home from further damage.”
