Chicopee Vice Principal allegedly attacked by a parent

The woman had to be subdued and handcuffed

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman from Chicopee was arrested on Wednesday after she allegedly head-butted her child’s Vice Principal.

According to Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk, around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, 33-year-old Glorymar Vallellanes allegedly tried to hit the Bellamy Middle School’s Vice Principal and the School Resource Officer Chris Gates, who was attempting to restrain her.

Officer Wilk said Officer Gates was able to quickly control the situation. He subdued Vallellanes and handcuffed her until other Chicopee Police officers arrived.

Vallellanes has been charged with Disturbance in a School, Assault & Battery On a Public Employee (Vice Principal), Resisting Arrest, and Assault & Battery on a Police Officer.

No children were harmed. Officer Wilk said Officer Gates told office staff to announce a code over the PA system to keep the children in their classrooms.
