Inaugural ball held at the Log Cabin in Holyoke for Mayor Morse

He held his third Inaugural Ball at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse celebrated with some of his strongest supporters Saturday night.

He held his third Inaugural Ball at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.

Mayor Morse made history when he was first elected in 2011 as Holyoke youngest Mayor at 22 years old and the first openly gay mayor.

Over his first two terms Mayor Morse has helped redevelop the Dwight and Northampton Street gateways to the city and oversaw the development of the canal walk and the new train platform.

We asked the mayor what his priorities are for the future.

“We’re going to continue to decrease crime. Continue to bring more people to Holyoke. Continue to bring more businesses into the city and in the third term as well it’s obviously so important to improve educational outcomes for our students,” said Mayor Morse.

Saturday night’s inaugural ball featured a five-course dinner, a DJ and live music.
