Ski Butternut participates in setting joint Guinness world record

120 ski and snowboard resorts participated in attempting to set the record.

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Ski Butternut hosted a Guiness Book of World Records event Friday in hopes of setting a joint record for the largest ski and snowboard lesson.

Ski Butternut was one of 120 ski and snowboard resorts across the country that participated to try and set the record.

Seventy-three people showed up at Ski Butternut late Friday morning to take the beginners’ lesson.

The Great Barrington ski and snowboard resort offered a $10 learn-to-ski and learn-to-snowboard package to everyone four years old and older who were interested in being part of setting the record. The event also kicks-off  the snow sports industry’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

Ski Butternut has been in operation since 1963 and has 22 trails, 11 lifts, and an eight lane tubing center.
