Parents overdose while in their baby’s hospital room

Landers also had a handgun in his pants pocket at the time

(WLWT) – Cincinnati police are investigating a drug overdose case at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital that left a woman dead and a man in the hospital and under arrest.

CPD said that at around 11:30 a.m., the man and woman were found in the hospital unresponsive.

According to the criminal complaint, the man, Wesley Landers, 31, from Alabama, was found on the floor of his 7-month-old child’s hospital bathroom with a heroin syringe in his arm. There were two other heroin syringes on the bathroom sink counter, the complaint states.

Landers was revived and taken to UC Medical Center for treatment, police said. He also had a handgun in his pants pocket at the time, the complaint states.

Mary Landers, 31, was pronounced dead a short time later.
