HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A judge dismissed the felony charge against former Chicopee Mayor Michael Bissonnette on Friday, ruling he was not trying to intimidate a witness.
The charges stem from an incident in September, when Bissonnette was accused of threatening and assaulting Chicopee Police Lt. John Pronovost at a polling location.

Lt. Pronovost claimed in his report that Bissonnette told him, “Wait until you testify in court coming up next month, I’m going to make you look like a liar.”
The judge found that Bissonnette’s comment was not enough to find him guilty of trying to interfere or delay the trial, and the charge of intimidating a witness was dismissed. However, Bissonnette is still facing other charges.
