CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It looks like job hunting is a popular New Year’s resolution this year. According to a new CareerBuilder survey, one in five employees are expected to look for a new job in 2016.
30 percent of 18 to 34-year-olds said they expect to have a new job by this time next year. And 34 percent of currently employed people have already started searching and applying for new jobs.
If you aren’t looking for a new job, you might have other work-related goals. Collete Green of Springfield told 22News that she wants to put more money away in 2016. “At least $100 a week if I could,” she said, “that would be more likely. Saving more money would be my main thing.”
She’s not alone. According to the survey nearly 40 percent of employees will try to save more money this year. Last year, only 11 percent of workers accomplished that goal. CareerBuilder suggests job hunters should network in person and through social media.
