EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Easthampton Mayor Karen Cadieux was sworn in for her second term on Monday, along with new and returning members of the city council and the school committee. The ceremony took place at Easthampton City Hall Monday afternoon.
Mayor Cadieux said she plans to work with the city council and the community to keep businesses in the city and also bring in new business. “The issues that I want to work towards in the future would be, again, working with our legislatures for financing for our roads and our schools,” she told 22News, “the way that are schools are now funded. So I’d like to make some changes with that.”
She also told 22News she wants to keep the momentum going on some of the projects that the city has already started. Those projects include phase 3 of the mills project and the downtown project. The mills will add a large number of parking spaces behind the Pleasant Street Mills and add more lighting.
