CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – Chapel Hill Police have now released the 911 calls made in the moments after the shooting of the one-year-old girl Christmas Day.

911 Call:
Caller: “A baby just got shot on Trinity Court.”
Dispatcher: “OK, sir. Sir, sir, I need an apartment number please. I need an apartment number.”
Caller: “Please, the baby is outside.”

It happened Christmas Day, at a housing complex on Trinity Court.

Family members said several children, including little Maleah Williams were all outside when the gunshots rang out in a drive-by shooting that hit the toddler in the head.

911 Call:
Caller: “They shot a baby.”
Dispatcher: “What is the address?”
Caller: “Hurry up. Hurry up.”

But Tuesday the focus was on the three men who investigators said are behind the shooting. Two of them, 22-year-old Ramone Alston and 23-year-old Pierre Moore, appeared in court and were denied bond on charges of first-degree murder.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Shaquille Davis has already been charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. But Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall said Chapel Hill Police continue to investigate.

“We’ve got a much better understanding of where things stands now. The first defendant Shaquille Davis charges could be changed. They could be upgraded,” Woodall told WNCN. “There have been some people who’ve been reluctant to get involved. I hope over the next few days those people change their minds and will come forward with more information.”

The 911 calls were released one day after Maleah died. The 1-year-old was unable to overcome the injuries she suffered after being shot in the head.

Her mother posted to Facebook and thanked everyone who reached out. She wrote, “This is the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life.”
