Greenfield mayor discusses plans for 2016

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – For 2016, Greenfield Mayor William Martin wants to focus on many of the town’s current initiatives, instead of starting new and larger projects. The town council will continue to talk about building a senior center and a new library, as well as the possibility of consolidating public safety all into one building.

Greenfield resident Thomas Cook told 22News what he’d like to see be done in 2016: “Anything to revitalize downtown that would aim at both attracting new businesses and keeping existing businesses open and thriving.”

Mayor Martin is also looking forward to completing the GreenLight Internet program, a municipal broadband Wi-Fi network, toward the end of 2016. A medical marijuana dispensary will also open in town in the former American Legion building.
