SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) — It’s a big weekend for Star Wars fans across the country. Yet, last night ended in disappointment for some local movie-goers.

There were two 7:30 p.m. showings at the Seekonk Showcase. One of them went off without a hitch.

Customers in the other theater, however, weren’t so lucky. They told us theater employees couldn’t get the movie started right away.

Some people left, while others waited it out.

We spoke with an employee by phone, who said the problem was corrected about an hour later.

We caught up with some of those who left early.

Moviegoer Scott Buisson commented, “Some people came out, they had babysitters, got out of jobs early, took the day off or whatever the case may be and you can’t see it. So, it’s a little disappointing.”

Viewers who left told us they were offered a refund and a voucher to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” another time.
