(WESH) – Officials with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement say a convicted sex offender tried to pay a hit man to kill a judge and several other people involved in his case.
Loomes Wheeler was recently sentenced to life in prison and now faces more charges.
Wheeler, a Kissimmee millionaire, is charged with six counts of murder solicitation from inside the Gulf Correctional Institution.
Officials said Wheeler tried to hire a hit man to kill the assistant state attorney and law enforcement officers who worked on his original case, along with the judge who presided over his trial. They said information showed Wheeler offered to pay $95,000 to an FDLE agent he thought was a hit man and that he wanted the victims shot to death as soon as possible.
The FDLE said Wheeler wanted the two girls he molested killed and their homes burned.
