Longmeadow School Committee interviewing 2 finalists for superintendent

Board to decide between Martin O'Shea and Dr. Neil Gile on Tuesday

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The Longmeadow School Committee will decide on the district’s new superintendent next week. The two finalists for the job, Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District Superintendent Martin O’Shea and Wolf Swamp Road Elementary School Principal Dr. Neil Gile, were interviewed by committee members Thursday night.

In a news release sent to 22News, board chairperson Janet Robinson said the interviews with the candidates have been productive.

“The interviews offered a great deal of insight into the style and vision of both of these accomplished educators. Given the importance of this decision, the School Committee wants to make sure they have done their due diligence and have the chance to clear up any questions that remain,” Robinson said.

Individual follow-up interviews will be held on Monday and Tuesday. Later on Tuesday, the committee will make its final vote during their 2:30 P.M. meeting.
