NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The lights went out in a major commercial area of Northampton Monday morning.
Danielle Williamson, spokesperson for National Grid, told 22News that the power went out to nearly 1,500 customers after a car hit a utility pole at around 10:30. The company was able to restore power to the majority of their customers a short time later, but outages remained for about 500 customers in the Damon Road and King Street areas.
Viewers contacting 22News through our Report It feature said that the traffic lights were out at the intersection of King Street and Damon Road, causing delays in the area.
All power was restored after noontime Monday.
