GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – After 15 years, Greenfield Police Officers can give out cop cards to kids or anyone else to establish a relationship between police and the community. The cards have the officer’s photo, name, and a short biography on the back.
Greenfield Police Chief Robert Haigh told 22News why the cards are so important for the community of Greenfield. He said, “If you don’t have a good working relationship for yourself within the community, problem solving becomes a lot harder. So we should be out there and we should be trying to create these bonds and these relationships because we can do a lot of positive things if we can just get out there and let them know that we’re there for them.”
The Greenfield Police Department worked with the opioid task force to create the cop cards.
