SUV crashed into Springfield house, driver seriously hurt

No one inside Edgemont St. home was injured

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Firefighters had to free a woman trapped inside her small SUV, after she crashed it into a house in Springfield’s Pine Point neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Dennis Leger, aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner, told 22News that the Honda CRV crashed into the porch of 76 Edgemont Street at around 8:45 A.M. No one inside the house was hurt, but Leger said that the driver was stuck in the car and had to be freed by firefighters.

The driver, who Leger described as a middle-aged woman, was taken to Baystate Medical Center for what he said were serious injuries.

There was no immediate word on what caused the crash.
