Mountain Road to be closed for two days

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP)– Drivers in Holyoke and Easthampton will be facing detours this morning.

Easthampton Police told 22News the Department of Public Works will be conducting annual maintenance work along Mountain Road Tuesday, December 1st, and Wednesday, December 2nd.

While that work goes on Mountain Road, also known as Route 141 will be closed to all traffic from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M.

Mountain Road runs between Holyoke and Easthampton over Mount Tom and is commonly closed in the winter time when there is snow or icy conditions.

22News is working for you with some detour options:

  • If you are coming from Easthampton into Holyoke, you can take East Street until you reach Route 5, which takes you south into Holyoke.
  • If you are coming from Holyoke to Easthampton, you can take Route 5 up to East Street until you reach Route 141.

Easthampton Police told 22News all business on Mountain Road will be open while the road closure is in place.
