Lengthy trial ahead for planned parenthood gunman

(KOAA) A renowned Colorado criminal defense attorney says the process to bring the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting suspect to trial and sentencing, if convicted, will likely take years.

Dennis Hartley, a Colorado Springs-based criminal defense attorney who defended Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, says, “This is a two- or three-year process.”

Robert Dear, 57, made his first court appearance Monday for advisement of an initial charge of first-degree murder for the November 27 attack which killed a police officer and two civilians and also injured four other civilians and five police officers.
